Melody Market - Store Clerk - Job Description

Located in the heart of Denver’s historic Five Points, Melody Market, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join us. As a part-time team member (20-25 hours a week), you will work in a hands-on role to ensure the store has the products available for customer purchase in a friendly and safe environment. Your duties may include preparing displays, ensuring the store is clean, stocking products, and assist customers with questions. To do well in this role, the ideal candidate will have a friendly and open attitude, with outstanding communication and people skills. 

Contributions:

• Interacts with customers of diverse backgrounds in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Provides accurate information on location of items in store.
• Ensures the store is clean, safe and in order.
• Works with other team members to stock, store  and rotate products to avoid any damages.
• Cleans shelves, mop and sweep the sales floor, stock rooms, and coolers. 
• Prepares store displays and ensure that products are  accurately labeled.
• Participates in the movement of merchandises between store shelves and storage areas.
• Assists customers in check out and payments as needed.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
• A minimum of 1 years’ proven experience in a retail or customer service experience.
• Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems. 
• Proficient computer skills.
• Available to work a variety of shifts depending on store need.
• Great attention to detail.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and coworkers.

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to engage in repetitive movements reaching shelves of varying heights. Able to move from a bent position to standing position to unpack boxes. 
• Ability to safely lift boxes that weigh in excess of 30 pounds.
• Comfortable and able to safely stand and climb ladders in small places.
